The next generation of Solaris foldable solar technology is here. The Brunton Solaris foldable solar panels are high efficiency CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium diSelenide) solar cell arrays that can produce up to 52, 26, 12 or 6 Watts of voltage regulated solar power. They are ideal for field use, with rugged, lightweight, flexible construction that can stand up to the elements.

CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium diSelenide) is the most efficient thin film solar technology available. By maximizing performance while optimizing portability, it makes Solaris the most compact high output models available.

Use with Laptop Computer

Laptop computers generally require 50 to 70 watts of DC power at 15V to 24V, depending on make and model. A single Solaris 26 therefore cannot independently power a laptop. However, it can be used to recharge a laptop battery with the laptop turned off (4 - 6 hours recharge time), or slow the drain of the laptop battery, if connected while the laptop is turned on.

To use the Solaris 52 or 26 with a laptop you need to purchase a 12V cigarette lighter adaptor that is made to work with your specific laptop. Connect this to the power input of the computer and to the female cigarette lighter adaptor (included with Solaris) that connects to the Solaris. The laptop cigarette lighter adaptor will adjust the voltage from the Solaris to the proper level to work with your laptop battery.

Solar Controller, below, recommended for use with Solaris 26 when used for long-term charging of storage battery.

The Brunton Solo’s™ use Lithium Iron Phosphate battery technology to power electronic field gear with the highest possible power output per battery weight. They can be used to run 12V electronics directly, using the included multi-output cord, or 110V AC electronics using the separate, included AC inverter. The units are easily recharged when plugged into a household outlet, vehicle DC outlet or by using Brunton's Solaris solar panels. Two models are available – Solo 15 with 12 Amp Hour capacity and Solo 7.5 with 5 Amp Hour capacity.
