International Orders Policy
ASC Scientific has been a worldwide supplier of earth science tools for over 40 years. We understand the complexities of international transit and employ a variety of shipping options including DHL, FedEx, UPS, USPS International, Ground Freight, Air Freight and Ocean Freight. We are able to quote door-to-door, door-to-airport, door-to-seaport or we are happy to work with your preferred freight forwarder whether they are based in the USA or elsewhere. How do I place an order?
Most of the smaller, in-stock items can be ordered by simply adding the item to the shopping cart and filling out your shipping and billing information on the checkout page. International shipping options will be displayed for your consideration. Once an order is placed, your order will be shipped as soon as possible and we will provide tracking information.
If a product has no price listed or it requires freight shipping, you will need to request a quotation. Simply add the product to your shopping cart and click the request a quotation button. We will respond by the following business day with a quotation that includes shipping costs.
ALL DUTIES AND TAXES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER AND ARE REGULATED BY THE COUNTRY OF IMPORTATION.
If any taxes or duty are owed, customs or the shipping carrier will contact you to arrange payment. Often times this payment must be made before the package can be released for delivery. Refusal to pay these charges will result in the package being denied entry and returned to ASC Scientific at our expense. Duty/taxes are determined by a product's commodity code and country of origin. ASC Scientific is not able to provide estimated duty costs but we can provide you with the commodity code under which products will be shipped and you may be able determine these costs yourself. Many countries have duty rates listed online or through other means. Please contact us if you want to calculate these costs before you order.
Payment Methods
All major credit cards are accepted for small orders including Visa, Mastercard, American Express & Discover.
Larger orders may require a payment via wire transfer and we will provide our bank information to you.
When will my order ship after placing an order?
ASC Scientific is dedicated to getting your orders shipped as quickly as possible. Orders will ship only during work hours which are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm EST excluding federal holidays. If you are on a deadline, please contact us prior to placing your order to ensure it will arrive within your timeframe.
Stocked Product Orders
Stocked product orders will ship within two business days. We will contact you via email to provide shipping confirmation and you will also receive tracking emails directly from the carrier.
Backordered Products are products that are out of stock but we expect them to be back in stock at some point in the future. All backordered items should have an estimated lead time listed on the product page. This lead time is an estimate provided by the manufacturer and is subject to change without notice. If you have a combination of in stock and backordered items in your shopping cart, the order will not ship until all items are back in stock.
Transit times listed in the shopping cart are estimates and do not account for any hold up in import customs. There are many reasons that a shipment can be delayed but the most common is miscommunications between customs and the recipient. It is important to be attentive to any communications from customs or the carrier and to promptly remit payment for any duty/taxes owed.
Drop Shipped Products
Items that are drop shipped are marked as such on the product page. The lead times for these products vary by the item and company. We do our best to provide current lead times on the product page, however these are estimates and are subject to change by the manufacturer. We will confirm the estimated ship date after the order is placed and will provide tracking information when the order is in transit. Please contact us if you would like us to confirm the estimated lead time with the manufacturer prior to ordering.
Express Shipping of drop shipped products will only expedite shipment transit time and will not expedite the lead time. For example, if a product has a two week lead time and you request overnight shipping, you will still need to wait the two weeks before the order is overnighted to you.
