Percussion Mortar and Pestle

The percussion mortar and pestle are designed for preparation of small samples for analysis by X-ray diffraction (XRD). You simply insert the sample into the cylinder, insert the pestle and strike the pestle repeatedly with a hammer. The resulting product is then sieved to provide the appropriate size range particles for analysis. The unit is robustly constructed of hardened tool steel for long service.  Available in both 1 inch and 2 inch cavity diameters.
