Covington Engineering 10" Glass Trim Saw

he Covington Engineering 10" Glass Trim Saw produces smooth clean cuts with minimal chipping and a prolonged blade life. Open table space permits ample room for free trimming. Trim saw features Covington's unique "Koolerant Kontrol" valve which virtually eliminates splash. Valve "C" adjusts the flow from reservoir "A" into blade compartment "B" to maintain proper coolant levels. Excess coolant from cutting area returns to the reservoir. Twin drains permit quick cleaning of sump. All units ship fully assembled with a diamond blade, aluminum-topped Lam-I-Cushion base, 1/3hp motor, Koolerant Kontrol valve, operating instructions, and product guarantee.

• Ultimate Blade: This is Covington's best and most durable blade for cutting glass. It provides a fine cut while still having a metal-bonded matrix
• Resin Blade:  This blade has a diamond grit embedded in a resin (essentially a type of plastic) which provides an ultra-fine cut but is very fragile.  It is not recommended to use this with a power feed.
• "A" Series Blade: This is Covington's finest diamond lapidary blade that may be preferred for some applications.

It is generally recommended to feed glass by hand but the saw is available with a vise / power feed system.  It is not recommended to hold round stock in a vise as you will not get a solid purchase on the material but square stock can be held securely.  The power feed mechanism ensures a consistent and smooth feed rate, allowing you to focus on the quality of your cuts rather than the manual labor of feeding the material through the saw.

The Trim Saw Vise and Cross Feed is designed to slab small work samples. The vise jaws hold up to a 3-1/2" and will grip the work piece without blocks or shims. The cross feed adjusts 3-1/2" before glass must be repositioned in the vise. The end of the cross arm shaft has a "no bind" roller bearing and hook which ensures a smooth feed and prevents rocks from "riding up" the blade. This kit comes complete with a vise assembly, cross arm shaft, cross feed, knob, weight feed cord, and scales.

If you are using the power feed system, a splash hood is also available.
